The best of Brazil (part I)

So let’s get back to the holidays and remember our Brazil’s trip! Oh Brazil! We had a ball in Brazil!

We took ten beautiful days off to Bahia! Ooohhhhh Bahia!! There’s much more to know up there than the tourist sites.

Since we got at the airport, I had a big smile on my face. Because I simply loved the 35 degrees welcoming us!

So, we rent a car and drove about 40km up to the city of Salvador. We stayed in a village, 4km before Guarajuba (one of the most famous beaches) and 11km before Praia do Forte (where the Tamar Project takes place, that one with the turtles).

Let me tell you something: we own the beach!! Seriously, that was amazing. There were like 6 people on the beach, including us!! There were no rubbish at the beach, no competition of space on the sand. Just perfect!! I wish I could stay in a place like that 6 months of the year… or 12. Just laying on the beach, drinking coconut water, swimming on the warm water of the ocean and don’t having to worry with nothing else.

I wanna stay here for ever and ever!

As we stayed in that little village and all we had to have fun was the beach, at nights we went up to Praia do Forte, where we could find lots of different restaurants and shops, and pubs. So we went up there almost every night!

They have the best pizza restaurant I ever ate in my entire life!! There’s many different pizza restaurants at Praia do Forte, but the most amazing one is called: 7 Pizzas. Seriously, no matter what were the flavour we asked for, was the best pizza of our lives! Better than everything you ever tasted before!! Remember the 7 Pizzas Natural Bar next time you go to Bahia :)

And of course you’ve heard about caipirinha. The most famous Brazilian cocktail made with cachaça (the brazilian liquor). But in Brazil, we can have any flavour of caipirinha we imagine. This summer the tredding flavour of caipirinha was siriguela (. But my choice of the night was passionfruit caipirinha!

That was bigger than a pint!

When we travel to Brazil, we just eat. When we travel for Bahia, we just eat shrimps, praws, fish, acarajé and moqueca and everything else made with shrimps and fish, everything really fresh, which are incredibly delicious. I’m already hungry just to remember how good that was.

A little bit of prawns on olive oil, garlic & peper

Romantic Vegas

As I wondered before, who in this entire world would imagine romanticism in Las Vegas? No one told me that it would be, it just happened to me.

But if you’re looking for a romantic trip in Vegas, you definitely gonna find the most enchanted things in the world.

To start with, there’s a gondola ride at Vetetian Hotel. The ride takes place both inside and outside the hotel, where you can enjoy different views of a Venice made in Vegas. The gondola rider is an authentic Italian singer, whom sings beautiful romantic opera classics during the ride.

Another enchanted place to be in Vegas are the Fountains of Bellagio. Just in front of the magnific Bellagio Hotel, the splendorous fountains “dance” for you every 15 minutes. At our first visit to the fountains, it was playing ‘Your Song’ by Elton John. And the fountains simply dance in the rhythm of the music… I have no words to describe it… It was magical!

One thing you’ve got to go in Vegas is The Beatles Love by Cirque du Soleil . The show is fascinating and I felt like dancing in every music, almost about to cry. ‘Cause you know… Beatles!

Love, love, love. All we need is love

As it is the week of love, why not talk more about it? Love should be always in the air. It’s everything so much prettier when there’s love inside.

"Love, love me do
You know I love you
I'll always be true
So please... love me do" (The Beatles)

Back in our trip to Las Vegas I was thinking: “Who in this entire world would imagine that the famous sin city, the splendorous Las Vegas could be romantic?” I wouldn’t! But my knight shining armour, Daniel, made my Vegas the most romantic trip ever.

To start with, as he arrived a few hours earlier than me, he prepared some surprises. When I finally got to our hotel, he started: Champagne… chocolates… I should’ve known there was something special happening. But for me, just to be in Vegas was special enough to celebrate! Who would think…

I was so excited with everything that I completely forgot about my tiredness over a 15 hour flight.

So we started with Champagne. “Let’s warm up for Vegas night” pass through my mind. And there he came… with my eyes banded, he went down his knees, holding a beautiful red rose with a diamond ring inside: “Will you marry me?”

“WHAT???” I replied! And he was on his knees still, holding the rose, looking at me. Oh my Goodness!!! Is it true? Is this real life? I didn’t believe it. Does anyone believe it at first time? I started laughing and crying and he had to propose again: “Will you marry me, sweetheart?” And I could finally say something: YES! Yes I will!

That was the most magic moment! I would yell to the entire world that I’m engaged!! Just like Monica of  ’Friends’ did it:

So, we went to celebrate in Vegas… ‘Cause, you know. We were in Vegas, babe. And we were just engaged! And that was so exciting!

The awkward moment came when I felt like shouting loud to the whole world that I was engaged, but I had no phoooooooone!! I just had internet access back in the hotel and there was so much to do out there, plus the time zone was all different that I could not find my mother to tell her everything about it!

That’s the rose. That’s the Champagne. And the ring is right here on my finger!

Oh Vegas!! From that day, we are now bride & groom.

I’m still super excited with this idea. Every time he says for someone else: “That’s my fiancée”, I got butterflies in my stomach… I’d say, butterflies everywhere!

Day of Love

Well dear friends, I know I’ve so much to tell you all about my vacation overseas, but I couldn’t pass through this special day: February 14th. The day of love. The Valentine’s Day.

As my favourite description of love says: Love is a many splendid thing, love lift us up where we belong. All we need is love.

Wish you all have a lovely day celebrated with heaps of love. ‘Cause today is the day of love.

Not only a special day to celebrate with your lover, but also to demonstrate love to whoever you loves. So today, love your sisters and brothers, love your mum and dad, love a friend, and most of all, love yourself.
